Emilie posted this on her blog. She asks the question if a chesty girl can wear a scarf? I say YES she can!

Salvation Army Hutch
I got this hutch for $47.00 at our local Salvation Army. I got lucky and caught it at a 50% sale. In it's original state it was not bad but just looked somewhat outdated. I sanded it down and primed it and then painted it a very pale turquoise blue and then put a Burnt Sienna glaze over it. I did not put the glaze on the inside because I wanted the inside to be darker. I also painted the original knobs and pulls and put the glaze on them as well. The glaze does not look orange in real life like it does in the photo. I think it turned out awesome - espeically for a first time project. It replaced the generic hutch that I bought at a thrift store when we got married 17 years ago. That hutch is currently being painted pale pink and will replace the ugly Oak Express shelves currently in my daughter's room. That project was a little more labor intensive because I had to do some things to make it look like it belongs in a girls room and not in a dining room. It's almost done and I will be posting photos soon.

Hello Floyd
Meet the newest member of our family ~ Floyd Walnut ~ we adopted him Saturday evening. They say time heals all wounds and apparently so does a new kitten. I was planning on waiting a while before looking for another cat/kitten. However, we all decided that maybe we should look. I'm glad we did, he is very sweet and laid back. Right now he has an upper respiratory infection and we have to give him meds every day. I think that once he feels better he might be more active and play more. Oh, and he got the middle name of "Walnut" because that we his name when we adopted him and we felt he should keep it as part of his name. We got him at the Denver Dumb Friends League I highly recommend them if you are looking for a new pet.

Good bye Maggie Mae
Today we had to say goodbye to Maggie Mae - I knew when found her this afternoon that today would be her last day with us. She was my cat for a long-long time and she lived a good life. She outlasted boyfriends and jobs; she was with me longer than I have been married. She lived 19 years and that is old for a cat. It will be hard to get used to not having her here with me. Grace cried and sobbed and carried on - then in the next breath asked for a kitten. Something tells me she will recover from this trauma.

More Hollywood Studios
Me and Grace in front of the Large Wizards hat at Hollywood Studios. I used paper from Cosmo Cricket - Circa 1934 line and the polka dot paper is from Daily Junque ( I think). The Circa 1934 line has exactly the look that to me reflects Disneyworld - especially along Mainstreet USA and Hollywood Studios. This layout was based on this Layout.
The layout to the right is based on a sketch found HERE. I used paper from Daily Junque and Cosmo Cricket-Circa 1934 and I used the Cricut (Alphalicious) for the title. Coming up next: The Tower of Terror!

Disneyworld
More pages done - working steadily towards the goal of doing at least one page a day. So far so good. AS much as we enjoyed Disneyworld and as much as I enjoy doing the pages; I am ready to be done with the scrapbook and move on to other photos waiting for me.
I don't like the way the title looks on this one - should I change it for a larger font from the Cricut? I think so and it will bug me until I correct it. :)

My girl with a new hair cut and a dress I made this weekend
She got a new "Do" this weekend and she loves it - no more tangles. I think the cut is totally her style. I first saw this dress at One Crafty Mumma and the pattern is from Sisboom. A very easy dress to make and very versatile, it can be made with short or long or bell sleeves and it can be any length you want.
Disclaimer: I just like the pattern, I have not received anything in return for giving it two thumbs up

Happy Valentine's Day!
This is a skirt I whipped up for Grace to wear to school today. It was made based on a tutorial I found on the internet. Sorry I can't remember whose Tut is was. The skirt is made out of a size xl T-shirt that I got at Hobby Lobby using a 40% coupon, so it was very cheap. For something that took very little effort and about 30 minutes to make, I think it came out very cute - or maybe its the model that makes it cute? ;)
