Kickstand Birthday Card

I found directions to make a "Kickstand Card" at Kirsten's blog: Confessions of a Naptime Stamper. The card is also a sketch challenge at Splitcoaststampers. I am not adding my card to the gallery there because I basically used Kirststen's idea and just changed it a little and I don't think they or she would want that there. I needed to make a birthday card and the one she had on her blog fit the bill. I had some bright paper on hand (from American Craft) that would be great as a birthday card. I thought the candle was a cute idea so I added it to my card as well. A very easy card, I can see why she likes to make them. I made some extras to have on hand. The birthday stamp is from Stampin Up! But I could not find the box with the name. The inside stamp is from a grab bag of unmounted stamps I got almost 8 years ago - The kind of purple-ish paper that I used to mat the circle paper is really blue but when I took the photo it came out purple and no amount correcting it on Adobe would get it blue. Grrr.

More Heritage Pages

Here are two more pages of my Mom. I have one more page to go but ran out of time today. The colors are a little off in the photo. The red paper and the red in the circles is actually a pinkish burgundy and matches the ribbon much better IRL than it does in the photo!

My Mom tells me that the Santa was a younger Santa and liked the ladies to come sit on his lap! It's a little wierd to see her being silly.

More Scrapbook pages

Grace's Preschool photo - 2007

My Great Grandparents on my mother's side. My mom says he might have been a little "hen pecked"!

And Below is my monther - I have about 3 more pages worth of photos of just her from when she was young. I will post them when I get them done in the next day or so.

Split Coast Stampers Challenge SBSC122

I found this challenge on Splitcoaststampers it is challenge SBSC122. I couldn't put a title on it because the page turned out to be much busier than I planned on. There was really nothing to journal and I am not real big on journaling anyway so I left that part off too. I have no idea who made the paper (I got it at Walmart), the flowers are Prima's. I had the buttons on hand.

What Was I Thinking???

I made some Thank you cards this week. After I was done, I took a good look at them - awful! I used the Thank You Cuttlebug folder on plain white cardstock then I chalked over the image. I came to the conclusion that if someone took the time to give me or my family a nice gift then the least I could do is take the time to make a "nice" card. So, here is a sample of the first card. Pretty sloppy card making.

And here is the one I made today (actually I made 10!) It looks so much better. I found the basic design on Split coast Stampers but I can't remember who actually made it first or I would give them credit. I used SU Perfect Plum cardstock, the flower paper is DCWV Posies Glitter - Petite Purple Posie, the stripe paper is Deja Views - Plum stripe. I got both at Michael's. The ribbon is from American Craft and the word stamp is from SU - Love Blooms and the Cat stamp is a Fluffles from Stampendous
